On Fathers Day I am always thankful for my husband who is a wonderful father. When we first met I was a nanny for two little girls. They loved David. He would come over and bring me dinner or take me out when I was done. On the nights when he didn't come they always asked where he was. I knew at that point he would be a great dad. He loves each one of our children unconditionally. He is kind and gentle (except when wrestling) and full of hugs and laughter. He is definitely the more light-hearted one in our relationship, and always helps me to not be so serious.
On Fathers Day I am also thankful for my own dad. He has taught me many things. I am ever so grateful for his example of paying tithing. I learned to pay tithing at an early age, and we went to tithing settlement every year. David and I have been through many different rounds of layoffs in his career and I am happy to report that it never affected us. I only have my Dad to thank for his example of tithing and of course my Heavenly Father for the blessings of tithing.
On Fathers Day I am also thankful for my grandpas. My father's dad - Grandpa Dave I am thankful for because he let the missionaries into his home many years ago, because he listened to their message and because he joined the church. I have the gospel in my life because of him.
I am thankful for my mother's dad - Grandpa Doug for his faith. He has faith in God and has always chose good in his life. He also has faith in me. He always encourages me to be the best I can be. When I was young he always told me I could be Miss America. I never even competed in a beauty pageant, but I don't think he is disappointed. He still continues to encourage me and tells me how proud is of me.
Each of these men have played a huge roll in my life and in who I am today. I am so grateful to such wonderful men in my life.
